Keep Going and Have Hope

“I pray my rage is a fire
That cleans my mind out
And makes me ready to listen
I pray my pain is a river
That flows to the ocean
That connects my pain to yours
And I pray I pray my happiness like pollen
That flies to you and pollenates your joy oh boy
Oh boy is that possible?
I don’t know I don’t know
We are making this up as we go
We have to make this up as we go”

– The Keep Going Song, the Bengsons

As a lover of folk music and Broadway I am sad and surprised I did not discover the Bengsons until today. They provide a powerful and magical mix of these two genres. I’ve just spent a bit of time listening to a number of their songs and am in love with this husband and wife team. Abigail and Shaun sing with heart grabbing raw honesty and eyeball to eyeball empathy that moves you and makes you think about things that matter.

Take a listen on YouTube to two songs not to be missed. The Keep Going Song will make you laugh and cry as it encourages us to keep going during the pandemic and all the political crap going on. Their song Hope Comes was posted yesterday and will make you want to stand up and move to the beat and act on hope.

Here’s a couple of articles on them:
