Heart Politic: Approaching Challenging Conversations

Explore with Thomas McConkie methods to meet across the political divide.

7:00 P.M.  |  Sunday November 18th
Judy and James McConkie Home  I  3373 Oakwood Street

In these times of political upheaval and division, how can we express our differences and voice our disagreements in an authentic way? How can we make it safe for others to do the same?

Join us for a soulful evening at Jim and Judi McConkie’s home, learning to better connect across the political aisle with those who seem to be very different from us.

We will engage in mindfulness practices, perspective-taking exercises, all with the intention to grow as individuals and engage in the vital work of healing our communities and nation.

About Thomas:

Thomas McConkie was raised in the LDS Church and has a passion for the world’s Wisdom traditions. At 18 years old he discovered Buddhism, which remains a wellspring of inspiration almost 20 years later.
Influenced profoundly in his twenties by world travel and the study of adult development, over time he began to ask the question of what spiritual health and deep integration will look like in the 21st century.

He is trained as a developmental researcher, facilitator, and mindfulness teacher. He hosts the Lower Light Sangha with the intention of providing a supportive environment where seekers of any kind can discover new depths and heights in their evolving journeys.
